Research Dissemination Grant (RDG) Guidelines A. The RDG is to be used for purposes of allowing faculty members to present research papers at international conferences. B. As a general rule, the organizers or other sources should cover the costs of international travel as well as accommodations. The RDG may be used to cover registration fees, miscellaneous expenses or simply as an incentive to the faculty. This is in order to extend the benefits to more faculty members. C. Awarding the RDG shall be in accordance with the following priorities: 1.Junior faculty who are invited to present and are funded by organizers 2.Senior faculty who are invited to present and are funded by organizers 3.Junior faculty who are invited but are not funded by organizers 4.Senior faculty who are invited but are not funded by organizers D. In terms of types of events, the order of priorities in grant allocation shall be: 1.Area studies (Asian Studies and Philippine Studies) conferences; 2.Issue-oriented, multidisciplinal conferences; 3.Disciplinal conferences. A list of regular events and networks shall be drawn up as a basis for prioritizing grant of RDG. E. Faculty are urged to file applications at the beginning of every quarter, or at least 45 days before anticipated departure date. F. All applicants may avail of the RDG fund up to two times until the end of September. To ensure that priority is given to junior faculty, an amount of P50,000 shall initially be set aside for their use until the end of September. By October 1st, however, all funds that remain unused shall revert to common RDG fund that anyone may avail of, subject to the above guidelines. G.The Dean should ensure that all papers and presentations by the faculty at international events should contribute to the good reputation and prestige of the Asian Center and the University. H. Those whose applications are not accorded priority are strongly encouraged to seek outside funds and will be endorsed by the Center to donor agencies. |
