Ohio-based UP Diliman (UPD) College of Engineering alumnus Engr. MacArthur V. Delos Reyes and his wife, UPD Institute of Math alumna Dr. Josefina P. Delos Reyes sign a deed of donation, together with UPD Chancellor Sergio S. Cao, on June 4 at the Beta Epsilon AVR at Melchor Hall, establishing the Ariston I. Delos Reyes (ASUR ’32) Centennial Professorial Chair in Energy Engineering, the MacArthur V. and Josefina P. Delos Reyes Centennial Professorial Chair in Electrical Engineering, and the Dominador I. Ilio Centennial Professorial Chair in Engineering. The Delos Reyes couple are trustees of a charitable fund for the University. Through the chairs, the couple wishes to honor MacArthur’s father, who finished Assistant in Surveying in 1932 at UP, and Ilio, a mentor who MacArthur said treated him as his own son. During the donation turnover, the couple expressed their admiration for the sacrifice UP faculty members make in choosing to remain with the University.
